Stone Crusher Plant

What Is A Coal Crusher Plant?

A Coal Crusher Plant is machinery that is used to crush coal (which is unprocessed) after it is extracted from mines. Coal crusher machines are crusher types that are specifically used for coal. Coal is a softer material when compared to hard stones like basalt and granite.

What Is A Coal Crusher Plant?

Coal is classified as a type of sedimentary rock made from both inorganic components and organic plant-based substances. Coal mines form due to the accumulation and the precipitation of tree and plant residues along with physical and chemical effects over a process of many years (millions). Coal mines also have a structure that is softer in comparison to other mine types due to the organic origin of the coal along with other components. This is what makes coal a more simple process to crush when compared to stone-based mines.

Coal is crushed and made into usable products for commercial and industrial purposes in a crushing plant that also goes by the name of stone screening and crushing plants. The coal is broken down into smaller sizes by crushers used in these plants. In general, there are three crusher types used in a coal-crushing plant. These are known as the Primary Crusher, the Secondary Crusher, and the Tertiary Crusher. Even though these crusher types are chosen according to the characteristics of the final desired product, the stone crushing and screening facilities are broken down into 2 separate classes which will depend on their structures.

#1 Mobile Crushing Plants

These plants are used to crush and process rocks and hard ores. The equipment is installed on a “mobile body”. The defining feature of a mobile crushing station has to do with its mobile structure. Transportation and installation costs are lower in comparison to stationary facilities due to the portable design.

#2 Stationary Crushing Plant

Even though it performs the same functions as a mobile-crushing plant, the stationary crushing plants are attached to a body that is fixed. The benefit of these plants is that they produce higher volumes and they offer higher performance.

What Is Involved To Process Coal

Coal processing involves beneficiation, screening, and crushing. Processing is described as converting the coal from ROM (run-of-mine) coal to products that meet the requirements of the customer. Mine coal often includes lumps, which is why the coal needs to be crushed to more manageable sizes.

To crush the coal, a two-stage process is required. The coal is first crushed in the feeder breaker, while the chain conveyor works on breaking the largest lumps. From here the coal will be reduced further through the sizer. Screening is also used for separating crushed coal into different sizes. During these processes, fine and coarse coal will be separated by screen machine in order to accommodate industrial usage and specific markets.

The standard steps used to prepare coal include:

• Crushing

• Screening the coal into different sizes

• Chemical, mechanical, or physical processes for the removal of undesired impurities

• Dewatering

• Drying (thermal)

• Blending

• Agglomeration
